Payroll & Admin Support Officer – Automotive Manufacturing

Reporting to the HR Manager, this position is responsible for processing payroll accurately and efficiently while ensuring compliance with all legislative and company requirements.

The role requires a highly organised individual with strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving capability, and the ability to work autonomously while supporting employees and leaders across the business.

About the role :

Monroe Australia is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Officer to support our Adelaide manufacturing operations on a part-time basis.

This role will work approximately 2–3 days per week (Monday, Tuesday and/or Wednesday) and is ideal for a highly experienced payroll professional looking for flexibility while still playing a key role within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

We are looking for someone with strong end-to-end payroll experience, exposure to modern payroll systems, and a proactive mindset who can support payroll improvements and future system enhancements.

Key responsibilities :

  • Payroll Processing:
    Process end-to-end payroll accurately and on time for employees across multiple departments and employment types.
  • Systems Administration:
    Maintain payroll and timekeeping systems, ensuring employee data, leave balances, and payroll records remain accurate and up to date.
  • Kronos & ADP Support:
    Manage and support payroll processing using Kronos and ADP systems, including troubleshooting payroll and timekeeping issues.
  • Compliance:
    Ensure payroll processes comply with Fair Work legislation, Awards, Superannuation, taxation requirements, and company policies.
  • Payroll Queries:
    Respond to employee and manager payroll enquiries in a professional and timely manner.
  • Reporting & Reconciliation:
    Prepare payroll reports, reconciliations, and assist with payroll audits and month-end requirements.
  • Process Improvement:
    Support payroll process improvements and contribute to transitioning payroll operations toward more modern and efficient systems.
  • Software Migration Experience:
    Provide valuable input and support for payroll system upgrades or migrations, drawing on previous experience implementing or transitioning payroll platforms.
